CRITICAL UNMET NEEDS:

  1) As noted in the above schedule, two ships are required during April 10 -
      21; one to support the Coastal Ocean Program (COP), another to support
      the Global Ocean Ecosystems Dyanamics (GLOBEC) Program. (Since the long
      term charter vessel will have the EK-500, it is preferrable to conduct
      the COP cruise on that vessel and the GLOBEC cruise on another vessel
      that must be capable of deploying the 10 m2 MOCNESS sampler.)

  2)  As noted in the above schedule, two ships are required during May 8 - 26;
      one to support the COP, another to support GLOBEC. (Since the long term
      charter vessel will have the EK-500, it is preferrable to conduct the COP
      cruise on that vessel and the GLOBEC cruise on another vessel that must
      be capable of deploying the 10 m2 MOCNESS sampler.)

ADDITIONAL UNMET NEEDS:

  3) A GLOBEC Cruise to conduct Turbulence Studies is needed during April 25 -
      May 5, 1994.

  4) A GLOBEC Cruise to conduct Turbulence Studies is needed during May 30 -
      June 9, 1994.

  5) An additional 60 DAS are needed during July-August 1995 for a Marine
      Mammal Survey to be conducted in the Mid-Atlantic Ocean.
